How Reliable is Your Car?

2020   Consumer Reports Auto Reliability Survey

How Reliability is Scored

Every year, CR asks its members about problems they’ve had with their cars, minivans, SUVs, and trucks in the previous 12 months. This year we gathered data on 420,000 vehicles, spanning the 2000 to 2019 model years. Members reported on problems in any of 17 trouble areas, including engine, transmission, in-car electronics, and more. We use that data to calculate reliability ratings for every major mainstream vehicle.

The predicted reliability for the 2020 models on is based on each model’s overall reliability for the past three years. We do this for redesigned models by analyzing the brand’s reliability history, the previous generation’s reliability, and if applicable, the reliability of models the vehicle shares components with. These are our predictions, and reliability can change if the automaker resolves problems or creates new ones by freshening the model.

I love the quiet and smooth ride of a Lexus! The turning radius on the UX is fabulous! I also feel very safe driving the UX. The remote start is tremendous!

BACKUP CAMERA WITH DYNAMIC GRIDLINES

When you put the vehicle in reverse, the view from the backup camera is shown on the multimedia display in full color with dynamic gridlines to assist you with parking and other maneuvers.

PREMIUM TRIPLE-BEAM LED HEADLAMPS

Making a statement before you even arrive, available full-LED headlamps feature a three-projector design. The headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve.

10-AIRBAG SYSTEM

The front-passenger seat is designed to detect whether the seat is occupied by an adult or a child, or is vacant. In case the system detects a child or empty passenger seat, the system prevents the passenger’s front, side and knee airbags from being deployed. The front passenger’s airbag features two chambers, creating an indentation in the center impact area that helps to provide occupant protection in a severe frontal collision.

BLIND SPOT MONITOR* WITH REAR CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT

To help you change lanes with confidence, the Blind Spot Monitor is designed to detect and warn you of vehicles approaching or positioned in the adjacent lanes. And for added peace of mind, the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert can help you when backing out of a parking space by notifying you of vehicles approaching from either side.

INTUITIVE PARKING ASSIST* WITH REAR CROSS-TRAFFIC BRAKING

Intuitive Parking Assist utilizes inconspicuous sensors integrated into the front and rear bumpers that are designed to detect surrounding objects. Using audible tones and an indicator on the multimedia display, the system can notify you of a detected object’s location and proximity, helping with routine tasks like parallel parking. Additionally, auto-braking technology helps protect you while parking by stopping the vehicle to avoid a potential collision.

Big News About Barbara Goodman

On my previous post I ended with, “I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store!!!” Never have those words meant so much. After 1.5 years at Volvo, I have moved onto Lexus of Northborough! What was a 10 minute commute is now 40 minutes. I’m always going against traffic so it’s not really bad.

I learned a lot of Volvo, about cars in general and how to sell cars. It’s my experience at Volvo that allowed me to move to Lexus. The move was considered at great length. I was at the point that I felt comfortable, with the store, the cars, the people.

Now I am in a new environment, so many more car models to learn and people too. I started on January 20, 2015.  After taking the many required tests to be considered, “certified,” I am ready to hit the floor selling. Tomorrow is Saturday of Presidents Day Weekend, which hopefully will be busy as expected, that is if the next snow storm holds off until the evening.

Wish me luck and if you or anyone you know is looking for a Lexus please contact me at: 508.836.2122 or bgoodman@lexusofnorthborough.
